Donkey Boxxes are proudly designed and manufactured in the United States of America. The idea and design for Donkey Boxxes began, and continues, in Berkeley, California. Initially they were designed for the Xtracycle Longtail Standard to be a useful, rugged cargo bicycle box. We haven't stopped tinkering with that dream, but realized that standard bicycle users could benefit equally from our low-cost, high-utility panniers.

We were fully aware of the impact our economy's downturn had on working class Americans, so we sought out a plastics manufacturer that could deliver quality goods, while helping and providing for their workers. After a bit of searching, we came across Minesota Diversified Industries (MDI).

Not only was MDI located here in America, but their company mission is built around empowering their workers to succeed and thrive by [serving] people with disabilities by offering progressive development and employment opportunities in competitive business enterprises.
